Enforcing Underage Drinking Laws Leadership Conference - Youth Perspective by Natasha Walker
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must - be middle or high school aged; represent an existing school or community youth group located in Cobb County; be personally motivated to reduce underage and youth binge drinking; demonstrate interest/willingness to share and learn specific skills; fully complete application; be willing to serve as a member of this youth council for a minimum of 2 years.
What is the Cobb Alcohol Taskforce Youth Council?
It’s a movement, a youth-led movement. Never before has an issue required the guts and spirit of youth to move it forward; to shake the cages of communities everywhere to make changes, to rattle adults out of complacency, and to rub the sleep out of politician’s eyes and get them to wake up to the problem of underage and youth binge drinking that affects thousands of youth everyday. The Take It Back Movement is about youth power, youth influence, youth brains--multiplied! It’s about imagining the future different, telling the truth, using data to back the story, refusing censorship, staying at the edge, creating action, and generating results. It’s about Cobb County youth coming together to make a difference in underage and youth binge drinking.
