Our Mission...
Cobb Alcohol Taskforce is an alliance of individuals and organizations which mobilizes and challenges Cobb County adults to reduce underage drinking and youth binge drinking, by advancing strategic enforcement, policy and education goals.

How, why and when we got started: After attending a statewide conference on underage drinking, a group representing concerned parent organizations and law enforcement agencies got together in November 1999 to share ideas for change. The Cobb Underage Drinking Task Force was formed in March 2000, to address underage drinking conditions in Cobb County by providing a comprehensive approach to reducing underage drinking through the collaborative efforts of its partners and members.
Where we are today: The taskforce changed names in 2009 order to better fit the with members' interest for expanding our scope of work. Today we target strategic activity to reduce youth binge drinking as well as underage drinking using Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration, SAMHSA model program, Communities Mobilizing for Change on Alcohol. On February 9, 2010 we proudly installed our first board of directors. In April 2011, the Cobb Alcohol Taskforce incorporated and became Cobb Alcohol Taskforce, Inc. and now operates as a 501c3 non-profit public charity. Members and Associate members are now referred to as Volunteers and Friends respectively. All organizations with which the taskforce has a signed agreement are now referred to as Partners and all who provide financial support are now referred to as Supporters.
Who we are: Volunteers of the Cobb Alcohol Taskforce agree to attend regular meeting and serve on 1 or more of 4 strategy teams listed below. Decide which team is a best fit for you. Don't hesitate to call or email with questions or for more information. Friends of the Cobb Alcohol Taskforce agree to serve as needed and receive regular emails but are unable to attend regular meetings or serve on a strategy team.
